Edge of the Canyon

There is a time when we dance in the morning
When we are young, and our feet are free
We sweep along to the sweet, sweet music
And the song of love, keeps our spirit free.

And then the dance, becomes the dance of the loved ones
Our love goes out on a windy night
It sweeps along on a rocky headland
And our love is a horn blast on a stormy night.

Here you stand, on the edge of the canyon
Looking down on the deep abyss
Here you stand on the edge of the canyon
No place to be on a night like this
No place to be on a night like this

If you lose your way in the ancient forest
Or the oceans deep or the desert wide
Just look for the north star and walk toward it
Its your own true compass, it will be your guide

There may come a time when the trail departs you
And you walk for days in the edge of fear
You are stumbling blind; you are wandering mindless
Then the mountains’ part and you find your here

Here you stand, on the edge of the canyon
Looking down on the deep abyss
Here you stand on the edge of the canyon
No place to be on a night like this
No place to be on a night like this.

There will come a sunrise over the East rim
The clouds will scatter and the air will warm
But now we stand on the edge of the canyon
Wait for the morning, in the throes of the storm

Here you stand, on the edge of the canyon
Looking down on the deep abyss
Here you stand on the edge of the canyon
No place to be on a night like this
No place to be on a night like this
