Stompin’ Ground
Up here on this mountain side sacred is the ground
If you have no business here, you better turn around
come here for the solitude, never can be found
oh ho you are in my stompin’ ground
Up here on this mountain top sacred is the air
sacred is the rattlesnake, sacred is the air
sacred are the summer nights when stars all move around
oh ho in my stomping ground
Stomping ground oh ho ho stomping ground
Stomping ground oh ho ho stomping ground
Stomping ground has been here 100 million years,
built by rising ridge lines canyon winds and tears
my stomping ground is brutal it is solid ist is steep,
holds me down in winter and it comes to me in sleep
If you come here for the water or you come here for the wind
if you come here for the rocky ground it might just let you in
but if you come here mindless or you are running scared
stompin’ ground will beat you down if you are unprepared
Stomping ground oh ho ho stomping ground
Stomping ground oh ho ho stomping ground
so if you come to trespass best be on your guard
for every ridge top you can see is part of my backyard
don’t think you can come here and never make a sound
and I won’t know you are in my stomping ground!
Stomping ground oh ho ho stomping ground
Stomping ground oh ho ho stomping ground
